Blekinge Museum has been closed since late March, due to the corona virus. Waiting to be able to open up to visitors again, the museum is investing in reaching out digitally.

- We do everything from digital exhibitions to speed dating films in the world heritage, with historical people from Karlskrona, says Marcus Sandekjer, county museum manager in Blekinge.

Economic consequences

In normal cases, summer is the time when the county museum charges for admission to the museum. Leasing of premises and guided tours also falls away.

- We do not know what the summer will be like, but right now we expect a loss of about SEK 1 million.

Due to the museum being closed, all weekend and summer staff have been granted short-term permits.

- But we hope to be able to bring them in again before our planned opening on July 4, says Marcus Sandekjer.
