"We have requested that the Swedish Transport Administration stop all train traffic between Dingtuna and Västerås," said Daniel Wikdahl, spokesperson for the police region Mitt, half an hour after the alarm came in.

According to the emergency services, two people were injured and taken by ambulance to hospital. The persons must have been staying on the track area and on the roofs of train cars for unclear reasons. Their injury situation is unclear.

By 18 o'clock, police and rescue services had left the scene of the accident and train traffic was back on track.
