Sweden's borders have been open to the EU, the UK, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland and Lichtenstien in the spring. As the summer holidays approach, more and more foreign tourists are starting to emerge in Sweden.

For them, the same advice and recommendations apply as for the Swedes on site.

- It's about social distance, washing your hands, that's the most important thing. It is the same in all neighboring countries, says Teresa Palmquist, Head of Communication Development, MSB.

Recommendations should be clarified

However, what applies to domestic travel can be more difficult for a tourist to interpret, since they assume that they have a place of residence in the country.

In short, avoid unnecessary trips. Traveling from one to two hours by car from the place of residence is okay, if it can be done in a contagious manner. And one should avoid burdening health care in other regions and spreading the infection to other parts of the country.

- The challenge is to clarify what applies in relation to the Swedish recommendations, says Teresa Palmquist.

Therefore, MSB is now going to create a page on Krisinformation.se that is aimed at tourists, seasonal workers and everyone else who is entering Sweden.

- We are currently looking into how to capture them, because it is not easy to find and capture them. We probably have to work in slightly different channels, ”she says.

The page should be ready within two weeks.

"Understand that you may find it strange"

That tourists who come to Sweden can become ill and burden the health care is no wonder, says Anders Tegnell, state epidemiologist at the Public Health Authority.

- Yes, that's what the regulations look like. Just as Swedes should receive care abroad, other citizens should receive care when they come to Sweden, he says.

Swedes may not travel for more than two hours, while others may come from other countries. How do you look at it?

- I understand that you may find it strange, but I don't think the risks of spreading infection in Sweden are huge.
