Nyamko Sabuni (L) is critical of how the government implements the strategy of the Public Health Authority for how Sweden should cope with the corona pandemic. She told us that on Monday in SVT's Morning Studio.

- Sweden's strategy, I believe, is the one recommended by the Public Health Authority. To isolate the elderly and take steps to control the spread of infection and not to shut down the entire community so that several things can continue to work, she says and continues:

- However, I am not entirely satisfied with what measures the government may have taken to live up to this strategy.

Failed to protect the elderly

Nyamko Sabuni lifts what she thinks is the most obvious shortcoming, that the elderly have not succeeded in isolating the elderly.

- The studious 70-plus people have managed this great thing, they have really taken a great responsibility for society and kept their distance, but there has been no expressed plan for how to do with the home service for example, she says and continues:

- At senior housing there are many hourly workers, with low education and who may not be able to speak the language, it also creates problems. I mean that you have failed to make this strategy work.

Political leadership is lacking

Nyamko Sabuni says that political coordination is needed and that responsibility is taken for the strategy to be implemented correctly.

- We say mass tests are important, but nothing happens. Then there is the lack of political leadership. There is a need for a coordinating force that says: this way, we will implement a strategy to achieve the results we need, ”says Nyamko Sabuni.

The Liberals are one of the parties involved in the January cooperation and are thus one of the parties that cooperate with the government.
