Investigator Gudmund Toijer presents the report "A modernized labor law".

The proposed changes in the Employment Protection Act (las) have generated debate since the SVT Agenda about a week ago could reveal parts of the content.

Today, with the help of the trade union, an employee can cancel a dismissal so that the employee can keep both jobs and salary until the dispute is settled. That opportunity is now being removed. The proposal applies to companies with up to 15 employees. It has been criticized by, among others, the Municipal.

Touring rules can be changed

The ordering rules can also be changed. Today, employers may choose to retain two, even if the employees were last. The investigation now proposes that the two exceptions be five.

There are also suggestions that the employer side probably doesn't like the worst, among them one concerning fixed-term employment. Anyone who has worked for nine months during a three-year period should be given priority for employment, instead of today's twelve months.

The legislative proposals and the investigation of las were the Center Party's big win in the government negotiations this year - raised by the trade association Företagarna.

The amendments are proposed to come into force on July 1, 2022.
