Nighttime curbs expanded throughout Washington, DC, and Los Angeles, California, as bloody violent protests arose as a result of the death of George Floyd, who was killed in the arrest of a white police officer.

Janice Han, a Los Angeles County supervisor, said on his Twitter that "the curfew will be issued from 6pm to 6am the next day."

As a result, 10 million people in the region are expected to be subject to curfew, CNN Broadcasting estimates.

Previously, the curfew was only issued in areas close to Los Angeles, including Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, and West Hollywood.

In Washington, DC, AFP news agency issued a nighttime curfew as protesters gathered around the White House.

In a statement, Mayor Muriel Bauer said in a statement, "issuance of a curfew from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Monday."
