"I see large, dense groups of people out in the summer heat in joy over the belief that the virus spread is over, even though all the curves indicate that it remains unstable."

This is what Fredrik Sund, head of infection management at Akademiska, writes in a post on Facebook.

"The virus does not jump between people"

He is worried that people are starting to relax and seems to have forgotten the recommendations when summer is at the door.

“Patients need intensive care just like before. The patients die just as before. No escalation in sight ”, writes Fredrik Sund in the post which has been widely circulated.

"Hope I'm wrong"

He recalls that it is important to continue to follow the advice to wash your hands frequently, keep your distance, be careful in contact with the elderly, and stay home if you are ill.

"Although some things are still debated around the spread, the virus does not arbitrarily jump several meters between people, it requires close contact between people or transmission via surfaces," he writes.

He concludes that he suspects that large sections of society have forgotten what applies, and that many lack the courage to dare to remind one another.
