Election posters of Julie Laernoes and Johanna Rolland, before the first round of the 2020 municipal elections. - J. Urbach / 20Minutes

The story repeats itself. As six years ago, the PS and the Greens will carry a common list in the second round of the municipal elections in Nantes. The list of Johanna Rolland (PS) and that of Julie Laernoes (Europe ecology The Greens) have indeed announced in the night from Sunday to Monday to have found an agreement. The modalities of this "gathering of the left, environmentalists and personalities from civil society" will not be revealed until Tuesday, but there is no doubt that it is the outgoing socialist mayor who will lead the new list.

“The substantive agreement between the lists of Johanna Rolland and Julie Laernoes does not negate the differences between their respective programs. But he chooses to focus on the contrary on shared and reinforced values in the face of the crisis, ”write the candidates in a joint press release.

Johanna Rolland came fairly clearly in the lead on the evening of the first round, collecting 31.36% of the vote. Julie Laernoes' list was only third with 19.58% of the vote. A score higher than that obtained in 2014 by the candidate EELV Pascale Chiron (14.5%) but below the ambitions expressed by the environmentalists.
