Earlier, the regional office of the Investigative Committee reported that on the territory of TPP-3 of JSC Norilsk-Taimyr Energy Company (NTEC), one of the tanks was depressurized.
As a result, diesel fuel spilled onto the roadway, and the car caught fire.
“By the decision of the regional commission and then by the decree of the government of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, an emergency mode of intermunicipal level was introduced at the level of the city of Norilsk and the Taimyr Dolgan-Nenets municipal region,” RIA Novosti quoted the Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Tsykalov.
He noted that the leakage rate exceeded 21 thousand tons of diesel fuel.
Tsykalov said that significant damage could have been avoided if NTEK and the Norilsk administration had informed about the emergency on time.
In March, it was reported that more than 1.2 thousand tons of fuel oil was collected at the spill site in Nakhodka in the Primorsky Territory.
