China announced the largest daily increase in cases of coronavirus infection in nearly three weeks by monitoring 16 new cases yesterday, in a jump for cases from
abroad in Sichuan Province in the southwest of the country.
The National Health Commission said in a statement today that all the new cases are for travelers from abroad, 11 of them in Sichuan. On Sunday, China announced the monitoring of two cases of injuries and delegations from abroad as well.
According to Chinese state television, the cases recorded in Sichuan came on a flight from Egypt, adding that six other cases did not show symptoms that were on the same flight.
And China does not record cases that do not show symptoms among confirmed cases of Covid-19, which is a disease that affects the respiratory system due to infection with the Corona virus.
The committee also reported that 16 new, asymptomatic cases were registered on the mainland on Sunday, compared to three on the previous day.
The data showed that the total number of HIV infections in China reached 83,017, while the number of deaths remains steady at 4,634.
