No thunder in the area, no ongoing ground work and the railway is too far away. How the fire in the inaccessible terrain may have started is highly unclear.

- Sometimes there are clear signs that some forest machine has started the fire, but here we have no control at all where it comes from, what started it, says Daniel Holmström, rescue leader at Gästrike rescue service.

Decreased in size

On Saturday, the fire was estimated to cover an area that was 400 meters wide and 1,000 meters long, but when the rescue team got the flames under control, the fire turned out to be slightly smaller, 500 times 500 meters.

At noon on Sunday, firefighters and two water-bombing helicopters are still in the area. High temperature and wind means that the rescue leader does not dare to say when the extinguisher is over.
