Four countries have officially applied to host the 2027 Asian Cup, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, India and Uzbekistan.
A source in the Asian Confederation confirmed to the German News Agency that the four countries have formally applied for hosting, while the field is still open for submission.
The Asian Football Confederation announced last April that the deadline for receiving applications would be extended for three months until June 30, after the deadline of March 31.
He explained - in an official statement - that the decision "was taken in light of the current epidemic, in order to give member unions - many of which were affected by the global epidemic - enough time to complete their internal operations and timelines."
