Jonathan Rollins says that during his years in the United States, he needed to be on his toes in every interaction, especially with police.

He reacts strongly to the video in which George Floyd, who was unarmed at the police intervention, is pressed down to the ground by a policeman for several minutes, despite Floyd appealing to police that he cannot breathe. Floyd later died in hospital. The incident has led to massive protests throughout the US.

"The police always get away"

- It's like the police know that his actions will have no consequences. Since it has been as long as they can do this without consequences, they continue. If anyone wonders why people are protesting in the US, it's because the police always get away with it. And if we are not listened to, maybe we will when we see ourselves, says Jonathan Rollins.

There are problems with racism in many police agencies in the United States, says Dag Blanck, professor of North American studies at Uppsala University, in SVT's Agenda.

- There is an enormous confrontation between the police and especially black men. For example, there is a long tradition of stopping black people to a much greater extent than stopping white people, says Dag Blanck.
