Save the sector strongly affected by the coronavirus crisis by helping car manufacturers to dispose of the stocks accumulated during confinement and making France "  the first nation producing clean vehicles in Europe  ". It is the dual objective of the government with these measures which will come into force on Monday, according to a decree published this Sunday in the Official Journal .

Cost of the effort: one billion euros out of more than 8 billion euros in total for the support plan for the automotive industry presented a few days ago by Emmanuel Macron.

Increase in the ecological bonus and creation of a bonus for the purchase of a hybrid

Among these bonuses and bonuses which therefore come into force on June 1, some are only temporary and must stop on December 31, 2020. Like the increase in the ecological bonus for the purchase of a new electric vehicle, which goes from 6 000 to 7000 euros for an individual and 3000 to 5000 euros for a legal person (business, community).

The decree also confirms the creation of an ecological bonus of 2,000 euros for the purchase of a rechargeable hybrid vehicle (petrol-electric), the increase in the conversion premium up to 3,000 euros for a thermal vehicle and up to 5,000 euros for an electric or hybrid rechargeable vehicle.

In addition, the ceiling of tax income allowing to benefit from higher premiums is raised to 18,000 euros.

The scrapping premium allocated for the replacement of one vehicle by another that is less polluting is extended to vehicles classified Crit'Air 3, i.e. petrol vehicles registered before 2006 but also diesels before 2011.

Long-term measures

Other measures will not stop on December 31, such as the doubling by the State of the improvement of the conversion premium for people living or working in low emission zones, up to a limit of 1,000 euros, as well as the payment by the State of the same aid as that allocated by the communities for the purchase of an electrically assisted bicycle, up to 200 euros.

The State also establishes a premium for the transformation of a vehicle with thermal motorization into electric motorization with battery or fuel cell.
