“We consider it unacceptable for US law enforcement officials to use special means - rubber bullets and tear aerosols - against media representatives after they have presented a press card," the commentary says.

The ministry added that they are considering the police spraying Minneapolis with tear gas in the face of RIA Novosti as a manifestation of unjustified cruelty.

“We urge relevant international organizations and human rights NGOs to properly respond to this arbitrariness,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

They noted the inadmissibility of violence by law enforcement agencies against media representatives in the performance of their professional duties.

Earlier it was reported that after the dispersal of the protest rally in Minneapolis, police sprayed tear gas in the face of a member of the VICE television crew and a correspondent for RIA Novosti.

Protests in several US states began after George Floyd, a 46-year-old Minneapolis resident who was detained by policemen, died in a hospital on May 25.
