After a 69-day closure due to measures to prevent the spread of the Corona virus, the Palestinians are preparing to reopen the doors of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque at dawn on Sunday, May 31, to return to receive worshipers from all Palestinian lands.

The Islamic Endowments and Affairs of the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque announced the end of arrangements to sterilize the mosque, its corridors and terraces, in preparation for the opening of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and announced a set of instructions requesting all worshipers to adhere to them, for the ease of entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque while maintaining the instructions of the Palestinian Ministry of Health to prevent the spread of the Corona virus .

The Awqaf Department confirmed that all the necessary measures have been taken to gradually return to the mosque.

The guard of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque Issam Najib told Al-Emarat Al-Youm: From the early hours of last Wednesday, after the blessed Eid Al-Fitr, the guards and the city’s sanctuary spread throughout all of its courtyards, to start preparations to receive the worshipers, and began sterilizing Al-Aqsa arenas and galleries.

Naguib emphasized the completion of preventive and health preparations, cleaning and sterilization operations, so that the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque would be in its best condition to receive worshipers as soon as it opened on Sunday dawn.

He added: "Among the safety measures, signs were placed in the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque for the spacing of worshipers, and a safety distance was set to start the rows."
