US President Donald Trump announced Friday evening that he is about to end the United States’s relationship with the World Health Organization because of its handling of the Corona virus crisis, adding that the organization has become a puppet of China.

At a press conference at the White House, Trump accused the United Nations organization of failing to implement reforms in the face of US concerns and concerns about the organization's handling of the Corona pandemic, and that it trusted too much of the information received from China.

During his speech, Trump went ahead with his repeated threats to cut US funding to the organization, which amounts to hundreds of millions of dollars annually

He said the World Health Organization had failed to carry out the reforms he called for earlier this month.

He added that Chinese officials "ignored their obligations to inform" the World Health Organization about the virus and pressed the organization "to mislead the world" when the Chinese authorities first discovered the virus.

"China has full control of the World Health Organization, although it pays only $ 40 million annually, compared to what the United States pays close to $ 450 million a year," Trump said. "We provided the details of the reforms she had to make and contacted them directly, but they refused to do anything."

"Since they failed to make the necessary and much needed reforms, today we will end our relationship with the World Health Organization and redirect those funds to cover other urgent public health needs around the world," he said.

Trump said, "China's concealment of the Wuhan virus has allowed the disease to spread throughout the world."

Trump said last month that the United States had suspended its funding for the World Health Organization, a decision that has been condemned by other countries and health experts.

On the other hand, the US President announced that Washington will end the special treatment for Hong Kong because of China.

"There are steps that we are taking that have to do with the worrying situation in Hong Kong," Trump said during the press conference.

He also continued: "We will impose sanctions on Hong Kong officials, and we will begin to cancel the exemptions granted to Hong Kong," stressing: "I will suspend the entry of Chinese, who pose a threat to security."

To that he added that "China violates the agreement with Britain on Hong Kong," pointing out that "China's interference in Hong Kong shows that the latter is no longer independent."

He continued, "China has transformed the Hong Kong system into one in two countries, and has not kept its word on Hong Kong's autonomy."

To that, Trump said, "China violated intellectual property rights and the trade agreement."

He added, "China spied for years to steal our inventions. Today I am moving to protect our financial markets from China. ”

And Chinese Ambassador to the United Nations, Jang Jun, warned during an informal session of the UN Security Council on Friday, that "any attempt to use Hong Kong to interfere in China's internal affairs is doomed to failure."
