The UAE and the Federal Republic of Germany discussed, during a virtual working visit to Berlin, ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields, in a number of successive meetings, which were arranged remotely with the technology of visual communication.
The Minister of State and the UAE's Special Envoy to the Federal Republic of Germany, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al-Jaber, met a number of German officials and parliamentarians, including Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Niels Moan, the political and security advisor to the German Chancellor, Dr. Jan Hecker, and the Deputy Speaker of the German Parliament, Thomas Obermann.
Al-Jaber discussed, during these meetings, a number of topics of common concern, which centered on ways to enhance bilateral relations in all areas, including the current state of the global economy and trade, energy markets, technology, and artificial intelligence, in addition to a number of regional and international files related to Common interest.
During the visit, views were exchanged on best practices to deal with the repercussions of the "Covid-19" pandemic, where Al-Jaber reviewed the distinguished efforts of the model presented by the UAE in this field, and the German side also provided an overview of their relevant procedures.
Al-Jaber said: «This virtual business visit comes in line with the directives of the leadership in the UAE, by continuing business and enhancing communication and discussing prospects for cooperation with our friends and partners around the world, and in light of the strategic relationship with the friendly Federal Republic of Germany, this visit was prepared to continue to strengthen bilateral relations in Various vital areas and sectors, especially in these circumstances that require enhanced coordination, cooperation, direct communication, exchange of experiences and experiences, focus on exploring growth prospects and future opportunities, be patient, prudent and persistent, and promote progress towards achieving positive results ». He stressed that both countries look to enhance their strategic partnership and elevate them to new horizons in all relevant fields.
The visit also included meetings with a number of German parliamentarians, including the leader of the parliamentary bloc of the Christian Democratic Party and the Christian Social Union Dr. Ralph Brinkhouse, the spokesperson for foreign policy in the parliamentary bloc of the Christian Democrats and the Christian Social Union Juergen Hardt, and the official spokesperson for the foreign policy of the Free Democratic Party In the German Parliament Bijan Djir Saray, the official spokesperson for the Social Democratic Party Nils Schmid, a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the German Parliament and the speaker for Middle East affairs in the Christian Social Union Alexander Radwan.
