“As a result of operational-search measures by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs officers in the Odintsovo city district, two men born in 1987 and 1998 were detained for defiling the memorial of military glory with the Eternal Flame,” she said.
It is clarified that law enforcement authorities opened a criminal case under Art. 244 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("Abuse of the bodies of the dead and their places of burial").
Earlier it became known that the police began a check because of the desecration of the Eternal Flame in Odintsovo.
According to the police, on May 28, social networks posted photos that captured how one of the men put a tin bucket on the Eternal Flame and stirred something in the bucket with a mop. At the same time, a second man stood nearby and watched what was happening.
