Precipitates in a gully, climber dies in Piedmont

An alpinist died falling in a gully during the ascent of Torrione di Bettola, in the municipality of Mergozzo (Verbania). The body was recovered by the Piedmont Alpine and Speleological Rescue technicians, after the alarm issued by the three companions, in shock due to the accident.

It happened around 1,500 meters. The body and the three companions were recovered in a dangerous spot. The mountain rescue of the Guardia di Finanza also collaborated in the operations. The mountain in Piedmont also recorded deaths and injuries last weekend.
