The match of the Ukrainian Football Championship, which resumes this weekend, scheduled for Sunday between the teams of Karpaty Lviv and Mariupol, has been postponed after several players and members of the Karpaty management were tested positive at Covid- 19, announced the Ukrainian League.

The match should have taken place on Sunday, when the country began a gradual deconfinement in early May and the end of measures to slow the coronavirus epidemic.

But several players and members of the Karpaty management have tested positive, the League announced in a statement, without specifying the identity and number of people infected.

All "have been isolated," said the League, adding that they have no symptoms.

Nine days of the championship remain to be played. All matches will be held behind closed doors and all supporters, players and officials involved will have their temperature taken before matches.

Ukraine had 23,204 cases of coronavirus and 696 deaths on Saturday.
