The teams of Agnes Buzyn, LREM candidate resurrected in the race for mayor of Paris, are preparing for intense negotiations this weekend to save the furniture in a ballot very badly started. The temptation to ally with the right is great, but the hand is still extended to Cédric Villani, we nuance within the teams.

"The 'negos' in Paris are very complicated." This is what a head of LREM list entrusts to the municipal elections before a weekend which promises to be rich in discussions. On June 28, the second round of the election will take place, abruptly interrupted by the coronavirus epidemic and containment. And for the presidential party, the game is tricky to play. Agnes Buzyn has certainly returned by announcing Tuesday that she maintained her candidacy. But it must now bounce back and find allies.

"We need to ally with the right to save the furniture"

Behind the scenes, negotiations have intensified. With a red line: no overall agreement with the right. Yet the temptation is great, especially among the two outgoing mayors, former LR past LREM, who are again top of the list in the 5th and 9th arrondissements. Officially, nothing is recorded, but "it is on the right track", according to a campaign executive. A counselor adds: "Even if it cringes, here, we need that to save the furniture."

Conversely, a merger with Cédric Villani could go away. The ex-walker talks with Agnès Buzyn, but also with Anne Hidalgo. "Which is original," quips a relative of the macronist candidate. A head of the list also smiles: "It is normal for a mathematician to be a supercomputer." The hand is still extended to Cédric Villani, a nuance in the Buzyn team.

The negotiations will last until Tuesday. "Anyway," analyzes a connoisseur of Parisian politics, "until the lists are deposited, everything can still move."
