South Korea announced that it recorded 79 new cases of Corona virus yesterday, the highest increase in nearly eight weeks, which prompted the authorities to re-impose strict social divergence rules, for fear of a second wave of disease spread in the country that won approval for the first outbreak.

The Korean Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that at least 82 of the cases recorded this week were related to a group of infections that were monitored at a logistical facility run by Kupang Corporation, one of the country's largest e-commerce companies, in Bucheon, western Seoul.

Deputy Director of the organization, Kwon John Wook, said in a press statement that it is believed that about 4,100 workers, including 603 working in the warehouse delivery service, did not follow the rules of social separation and preventive measures as they should, including putting up masks.

The new cases, which represent the third daily increase in a row, raised the total number of injuries in the country to 11,344 cases, in addition to 269 deaths.

Yesterday's increase in infection cases prompted health officials to urge the re-tightening of the rules for social separation in major urban areas, including the closure of some public places such as museums.

The Minister of Health, Park Nyong-ho, announced that the museums, parks and art halls in the Seoul region will all be closed again for two weeks from today.
