When Norway's Prime Minister Erna Solberg presented the agreement with Denmark on Thursday, she was clear.

"The contagion situation looks different in Sweden," she noted.

Therefore, it is not as easy for neighboring countries to open the border to us.

Skånings can travel to Denmark

But Sweden's Interior Minister Mikael Damberg (S) hopes that there will be a change soon.

- We ourselves have no restrictions for Nordic tourists to come to Sweden and spend their money in our country. Provided they comply with the Swedish rules and recommendations. I think we all have to gain from removing these boundary restrictions in the long term and returning to a normal state in Nordic co-operation, ”he tells SVT News.

Damberg is clear that the ball lies with our neighboring countries. With Denmark, concrete discussions are being conducted on attempts to find regional solutions that could potentially open to Scania to travel to Denmark.

- There are many scouts who have responded that they cannot travel to Denmark when Danes can travel to Sweden. This at the same time as the spread of infection in Skåne is lower than in Zealand. That would mean looking at a regional solution for Skåne against Denmark. But it's a little premature to say anything yet, says Damberg.

Solberg: "Hardest to find solution with Sweden"

Similar discussions are also held with Norway.

- I note that in the cooperation that Denmark and Norway have entered into, it includes recommendations not to tourist in the Copenhagen metropolitan area. And it is possible that there are similar arguments that Norway wants to have with Sweden, says Damberg without going into further detail on how the discussions are going.

Still, it doesn't look easy to be. Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg emphasized on Thursday that Sweden is the one of the neighboring countries with which they find it difficult to find a solution. But at the same time she gives a small opening which indicates that she is in the same way as Damberg is talking about.

- In the situation we are in now, it will be most difficult to find a solution with Sweden. But there are regions in Sweden with a low spread of infection where we may have the opportunity to find a solution, says Erna Solberg to TT.
