The facts took place last Saturday, the day of Eid el-Fitr which marks the end of Ramadan. That day, the three police officers arrested a group of muscular young men. They divide up the tasks: two of them hit the offenders and then force them to crawl while holding their ears, while the third agent is responsible for filming and broadcasting the scene on social networks.

A way of dissuading other pretenders to the violation of the curfew. But the video arouses indignation up to the top of the state.

Tuesday evening, the sanction falls in the main edition of 20H on TVM. It is the regional director of road safety of Nouakchott south, Captain Ismaël Atik, who makes the announcement: "  the police officers who violated the laws of the Republic by perpetrating these unacceptable humiliating treatment against citizens arrested during hours Curfew on Saturday, May 23, the day of Eid al-Fitr, were arrested and the command ordered their immediate removal from the road safety police force. "

The captain said that an investigation had been opened and that the ex-police would be sent to justice.
