This was reported by "112 Ukraine" with reference to the press service of the GDB.
"The State Bureau of Investigation ... conducted more than 20 searches in the office premises of the State Tax Service of Ukraine in the city of Kiev, Lviv and Donetsk regions," the statement said.
It is assumed that tax officers, abusing their official position, in order to obtain undue benefits, contributed to the unlawful formation of value added tax.
According to law enforcement agencies, this was part of a scheme whose purpose was to evade payment of taxes on an especially large scale.
In February, it was reported that the US State Department plans to hire an anti-corruption adviser in Ukraine to work on “building capacity” of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and other justice agencies.
