The reason why Sweden must not participate is the difference between the spread of infection in Denmark and Sweden, says Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen (S) at a press conference.

- But we have a strong desire from the Danish government to find a solution with our Swedish neighbor. For example, it could be a regional solution with a particular focus on the Öresund region, says Mette Frederiksen.

Malmö hopes for a quick solution

For the municipal council's chairman Katrin Jammeh Stjernfeldt (S) in Malmö, today's message was expected, but she hopes that a solution can be found where residents in the Öresund region are allowed to travel both ways across the strait.

- After all, we are the Nordic region's largest labor market region, so I hope our governments find a quick solution to this, she says.

The Chamber of Commerce, which operates for entrepreneurship in Southern Sweden, was disappointed that Sweden was not included in the agreement presented.

- This is damaging to cooperation in the Öresund region. It damages growth, integration and credibility. Confidence between Denmark and Sweden is also damaged, says Stephan Müchler, CEO of the Chamber of Commerce.
