Coronavirus in Poland: masks are no longer mandatory on the street

Poland continues its deconfinement. After being masked for a month and a half, the Poles no longer have the obligation, from this Saturday, to cover their noses and mouths outside. This remains compulsory in public transport, churches, shopping centers, but all the same, Poles will be able to discover themselves in the streets and parks. Provided you keep the 2 meter sanitary distance. On the spot, one hesitates between relief and worry, because the peak of the epidemic is not yet reached. The number of new daily patients has not decreased for a month and a half.

Poland is relatively untouched by the epidemic. So, for a few days already, in this park of the capital, the wearing of the mask is very relative.
Joanna, a 50-something cyclist, has only a scarf around his neck. "  Some of the people were wearing a mask and the rest were not, " she said. So I don't see the point in doing it if not everyone is following. This is why I really expected this day. We are no longer obliged, I am very happy.  "

To justify his decision, the Prime Minister assured that the epidemic is generally under control. The main outbreak is under control in the south of the country, far from Warsaw. Yet there, too, you don't have to wear a mask either. Sitting on a bench, Maciej is worried: "  I don't think we should reduce the restrictions already. I fear that the epidemic will continue, and intensify further. So it's a little scary to see people so, how to say, ignorant.  "

The peak of the epidemic is still not reached in Poland. The number of new daily cases is stable, and has not declined for two months. So, with her friend, Magdalena favors safety: “  Personally, it's too early and I will keep the mask on for a month or even two. And I see that people are further from me when I keep the mask. So I feel better.  "

Epidemiologists also say it's too early. The epidemic is far from ebbing in Poland.
