The incident occurred in the municipality of Mörbylånga earlier this year and now the man is charged with, for example, attempted murder, serious abuse and serious illegal threats.
The man should have hit the woman in the face with an ax. He should then have tried to strike a second time, but then prevented by another person in the room standing in the way. The stroke that was dealt was done with the blunt part of the ax head.
The stroke has caused the woman pain as well as wound damage and subcutaneous bleeding in the forehead, according to the lawsuit.
The accused man has been detained since May 3.
