A review of Yann Cucherat's divestiture
Stanislas Guerini was clearly referring to the fratricidal struggle which has opposed Gérard Collomb in recent months to his former assistant David Kimelfeld who partly explains his poor score in the first round of the elections.
The former Minister of the Interior announced this Thursday an alliance with the right, which sees him fade behind the candidate LR François-Noël Buffet for the strategic presidency of the metropolis, center of power in Lyon. For the town hall, it is his foal Yann Cucherat who will be the candidate of the new alliance after the withdrawal of LR Étienne Blanc as head of the list.
“I take note of the withdrawal of Gérard Collomb from the election to the metropolis and ask the National Investiture Commission to meet as quickly as possible so that the divestiture of Yann Cucherat in Lyon is examined. I make it clear: our values will always be more important than a few seats on a city council. We will never trade them for a warrant, ”added Stanislas Guerini.
A disappointment in the first round
"The Republic on the move was built on overcoming the cleavages which have paralyzed French political life for decades (...) But this overcoming has always been established on the basis of a base of shared and indisputable values", a added Stanislas Guerini.
Favorite of the polls to conquer the metropolis, the baron invested by LREM had suffered a great disappointment on March 15, his lists being preceded by those of Bruno Bernard (EELV), François-Noël Buffet or David Kimelfeld, his three main competitors in the 14 polling divisions.
