Berlin (dpa) - Economics Minister Peter Altmaier (CDU) wants to support medium-sized companies even more because of the corona pandemic. Companies with up to 249 employees should be able to get up to EUR 50,000 a month from June to December.
The aim of the bridging aid is to ensure the existence of small and medium-sized companies that are affected by corona-related conditions and closures. This was reported by the "Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung" from a key point paper, which according to dpa information comes from the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
Applications should be open to companies from all sectors of the economy, as well as solo self-employed and freelancers. To do this, their sales must have plummeted in April and May by at least 60 percent compared to the same months in the previous year. Companies that already receive emergency aid from the federal government or the federal states may also apply for further support. According to the report, the ministry is expecting costs of 25 billion euros by August - how much afterwards will depend on the infection rate.
