He noted that both parties should release the remaining prisoners.

The representative added that the agreement also included a refusal to return to a high level of violence and agreement on a new date for the start of inter-Afghan negotiations.

Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg approved of the decision of the Taliban and the Government of Afghanistan to cease fire in the country for three days.
