The National Police have arrested in Gijón and Gandía (Valencia) two dangerous pedophiles who were among the most wanted internationally and whose location was possible after two years of investigations when investigators detected images of abuse of a five-year-old girl recorded in Spain.

As reported by the General Directorate of the National Police , the investigations began in May 2018 when the Australian police published photographs of sexual abuse of a minor discovered in the TOR network, the so-called deep internet, in an Interpol-dependent police database.

Analyzed the photographs, the researchers of the Central Cybercrime Unit established that the minor could be found in Spain, so specialists from the Family Care Unit also began an investigation .

Finally, the scene of the images was located in a town in Alicante, in addition to identifying the alleged perpetrator and the victim, a 5-year-old girl from his family circle.

The pedophile was detained in a house in Gijón, where the camera used to photograph the minor was found and his alleged involvement in sexual abuse of two other girls, also from his close family nucleus, was confirmed.

In his statement to the agents, the pedophile admitted having taken the photographs, although he flatly denied having shared the material on the TOR network , something that the researchers found that another pedophile could be behind that distribution.

In fact, the police accredited that this man knew that the other pedophile had undistributed pedophile material and, therefore, of great value in the market, and that he managed to steal the images.

This 30-year-old man, who was being persecuted by different European police forces, boasted of having sexually abused some girls of 8 and 11 years old, daughters of his current partner . He was detained in the Valencian municipality of Gandía.

During the thorough house search, the participants faced great difficulties due to the iron-clad security measures adopted by the person under investigation, using techniques to hide graphic material, use of secure erasure programs and anonymizers, as well as proxy servers or VPN.

The agents credited the possession of pedophile material stored in a USB memory with encryption programs, which apparently was empty of content.

However, investigators were finally able to locate files of pedophile content that the detainee had erased and also discovered a high-capacity, hidden and encrypted container that housed more than 80,000 child pornography files, in addition to finding the program used to subtract the material from child sexual abuse that gave rise to the investigation and the well-known Manual of the pedophile .

For months, the agents have analyzed the seized material and after a year of work, they have managed to locate new images in which the detainee abused another minor, also from his family environment and that, without being explicitly sexual, denoted an unequivocal obsession towards the girls.

Investigators highlight the dangerousness of the detainee, who selected the mother of the two girls as a couple, since he had to take care of them for a long time. He even became the guardian of these girls, since the mother entered prison for acts unrelated to the investigation .

This was expressly stated in his conversations with other pedophiles in the TOR network, in which he advised taking advantage of this situation that facilitates access for victims to sexually abuse them.

After his imprisonment, the appropriate protection measures were adopted with regard to the two minors who were in his custody, as well as the minor victim of sexual abuse and the other two minors, of whom personal images were discovered.
