• Demonstration.Vox collapses Madrid

The TVE News Council and the newspaper La Razón condemned this Saturday harassment and assault on two of their professionals while covering the demonstration called by Vox in Madrid against the government's management of the coronavirus crisis.

On its Twitter account, the TVE News Council has written that "freedom of expression and demonstration cannot restrict freedom of the press and the right to information."

"We support our colleagues and call for an end to the harassment of those who prevent them from reporting in freedom and security," concludes his message.

During a live connection, a group of protesters surrounded a TVE journalist with Spanish flags, even passing them in front of his face, and he received some insults.

For its part, La Razón has also condemned, through a tweet, the assault on one of its graphic reporters during the demonstration, as can be seen in images, as well as in the case of the harassment of the TVE reporter's work.

In addition, Vox, from his Twitter account, has also pointed to a journalist from El País who he has banned his actions, has accused him of going to the demonstration without a mask, despite the fact that there are images of him wearing a mask.

Letter to Abascal

The UGT section at the RTVE corporation has sent a letter to the leader of Vox, Santiago Abascal, urging that "harassment of the corporation's professionals in the coverage of concentrations, casseroles and other actions of protest against the government.

In a statement in which it reports the letter, the UGT also suggests to the president of Vox that to resolve complaints about RTVE, resort to tools such as the CRTVE's Mixed Parliamentary Control Commission, the Parliament itself or the sole administrator of the corporation.

Homophobic insults in Barcelona

The Barcelona City Council will transfer to the Prosecutor's Office for a possible hate crime the homophobic insults that two men carrying a gay flag received in the city this Saturday during the demonstration called by Vox against the government's management during the coronavirus pandemic.

The mayor of Barcelona, Ada Colau, announced it tonight on her Twitter account, where she wrote: "In Barcelona, ​​everyone has the right to demonstrate, even outdated machirulos in posh cars."

"What we will not allow in any case - continues the mayor - is intolerance or homophobia. That is why we will transfer these facts to the Prosecutor for possible hate crime."

Some 500 vehicles have marched through Barcelona at midday uttering messages addressed to Sánchez and against the "Chinese Communist Party", and some of them have played military music and the Spanish anthem from their loudspeakers.
