The High Coast-Ådalen Rescue Service routinely tests the six-meter fire boat every Saturday, but this time it did not go well. When the boat came out on the water, the engine stopped.

"Someone had cut three fuel hoses and half of the diesel that the tank holds was gone," says strength leader Andreas Åström.

Started drifting at sea

The entire force that was in service was stuck on the boat that started to drift out to sea. Andreas Åström, who was still on land himself, tried in vain to get help, including by calling SOS Alarm.

- The British firemen were not in danger but had it become an alarm we would not have had any personnel to send, he notes.

Rescued by private person

Finally, a private person showed up and was able to tow the boat into shore. Andreas Åström is concerned about the sabotage.

- Obviously you get annoyed, after all, we have provided the boat to be able to make efforts. Those who have done this are destroying everyone including themselves, he notes.

The boat has now been forced to repair the damage and the incident has been reported to the police.
