Abu Dhabi Police confirmed that leaving children in vehicles alone while shopping or for any other reason and putting their lives at risk is a crime punishable by law and whoever proves negligent in such cases will be referred to the judicial authorities to take legal measures against them.

She explained that leaving children in vehicles may cause them to die or expose them to suffocation due to lack of oxygen, high temperatures inside the vehicle, or moving them due to tampering with the transmission, accident, exploitation of the weak souls and theft of the car.

She appealed to the families not to depend on others when getting off the car and leaving the children in the back seat while they are drowsy or sleeping, or giving responsibility for caring for them to their older children, especially in the summer period, which causes them to suffocate if the car stops completely from operating.

She said that the incidents of suffocating children inside the car, and they alone are due to the neglect of families in the first place because the child does not understand the risks that surround him as a result of his lack of awareness of things, and here comes the role of parents in protecting the child from himself and others, where the role of the family is vital in this Framework, wishing that no such accidents would happen to innocent people.
