Activists circulated a video clip showing the refusal of Aswan University Hospital in Egypt to receive an elderly person suspected of being infected with the Corona virus.

The video shows security personnel transporting the elderly in a wheelchair and putting him on the ground, after which he was left on the street without providing medical care, while a number of young men trying to dissuade security men from evicting the elderly despite the fatigue that appears on him, but without response.

According to the communication sites, the patient died while laying on the floor outside the hospital walls.

On the other hand, the director of Aswan University Hospital, Dr. Ashraf Maabad, said, "The case of a patient named Jalal Muhammad Abdel-Basit, 72, who entered the hospital on May 21 and was placed in cardiac care and conducted tests and analyzes of the case, which revealed the suspicion of being infected with the Corona virus."

He added, in statements to local newspapers, according to the protocol of the Ministry of Health, that there are specific hospitals to receive isolation cases, and that the patient was transferred by an official letter to Sadr Aswan Hospital, and he was discharged in a wheelchair from the hospital to take him to Sadr Hospital and we did not throw him on the floor.

He continued, "But the patient's companions indicated that there were no vehicles to transport him because of the ban, and he was sent back to the hospital and placed in the isolation department, and during that he experienced a sudden sharp drop in blood circulation and attempts were made to rescue him, but he died."

Yesterday, Friday, the Ministry of Health and Population of Egypt announced that 783 new cases of new Corona virus had been recorded, the highest daily increase since the outbreak and 11 deaths.

Ministry spokesman Khaled Mujahid said that the total number that was registered in Egypt with the Corona virus as of Friday is 15,786 cases, of which 4374 cases were cured and discharged from isolation and quarantine hospitals, and 707 deaths.
