She draws portraits of national celebrities such as Greta Thunberg and Anders Tegnell, but also of local celebrities from Salem, both politicians and business owners. Many may have also come across her illustrations in various children's books. She has now been awarded this year's cultural scholarship in Salem Municipality.
- It means so much, it's a spur to me to keep going, she says through the computer screen from the summer house in Småland.
- This shows that I'm on the right track. That it is children I should work with and try to make them realize how important it is with books. But also that one should dare to believe in oneself.
Karin Eriksson draws every day and is happy to challenge himself to try to draw as much as possible. Among other things, Salem Municipality's motivation for the cultural award stated: “Karin Eriksson is a cartoonist and illustrator from Salem. With her skillful and imaginative drawings, she has illustrated books that stimulate children's imagination. ”
