The family of the murdered Saudi journalist Jamal Khashogg says he has forgiven the murderers.
Khashogg’s son Salah Khashoggi spoke on Friday on Twitter.
- On this blessed night of the blessed month (Ramadan) we remember how God said: If a person forgives and reconciles, Allah will reward him, he wrote.
- That is why we sons of martyr Jamal Khashogg declare our forgiveness to those who killed our father.
Jamal Khashoggi, who criticized the Saudi regime, was killed shortly after he entered the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on October 2, 2018.
Saudi Arabia has long denied Khashogg's death, but eventually reported that a group of Saudis had acted independently behind the murder. Turkey sentenced a total of eight people to murder last year, five of whom were sentenced to death.
In March this year, it was announced that several charges have been brought against Saudi citizens in connection with the murder in Turkey. A total of 20 people are on trial.
