The Sharjah Department of Economic Development has closed 13 installations that do not comply with the precautionary standards and requirements to limit the spread of the Corona virus, since the beginning of the Corona crisis in the Emirate.

Fahd Al-Khumairi from the Economic Department stated during a remote press conference broadcast on Sharjah TV channel that all the exploited and transgressors will be deterred in the current period, put an end to violators, monitor exploitation and prevent wrong practices in the emirate’s markets, indicating that the department will take all legal measures against all Violating outlets if they violate the conditions, standards and precautionary measures stipulated by the competent authorities in the country and the Emirate to combat the Corona virus.

He stressed that Sharjah’s economy continues in its control campaigns in an effort to limit the procedures for commercial fraud, and to protect consumers in various cities and regions of the Emirate of Sharjah, to ensure the safety of all economic practices, especially in such exceptional circumstances.

He said that the department in its various branches will not tolerate those who authorize it to harm the safety and health of society or exploit the increased demand for a number of products at the present time.

He noted the role of the department in controlling all commercial practices and working to control any cases of commercial manipulation or fraud, through control campaigns carried out by commercial officers around the clock, seven days a week, to put an end to violators and transgressors.

He called on community members and the public to communicate with the department in case of any violation of the precautionary standards and procedures in any economic facility.
