She explained to «Emirates Today» that the call center provided many consultations and dealt with a number of reports of violence and abuse related to senior citizens and people of determination, pointing out that calls and communications are received through the toll free number 8007080 or communicating through the department’s website, as part of the continuous efforts to provide services It takes into account the circumstances and needs of beneficiaries of different age groups.

Al Ali emphasized that when a communication is received, the specialist will study the case of the notification immediately or direct intervention through the field visit, or the problem can be addressed either by direction or guidance, noting that sometimes dangerous communications are dealt with by urgent intervention and transferred to the relevant authorities with Jurisdiction.

For its part, the head of the Al-Asala Clubs Department, Sumaya Al Shamsi, said that the nine Asala Clubs provide services at the level of Sharjah with the aim of improving the quality of life for senior citizens by creating an effective communication environment, away from the isolation that some people face in homes.

Al Shamsi indicated that a package of programs, recreational, health, sports and social activities and programs were implemented during the daytime period of about 977 cases.
