The far-right president is accused of a crime of responsibility, an attack on public health and endangering the life of the Brazilian people for his conduct, described as "  irresponsible  " in the fight against Covid-19.

In power for almost a year and a half, Jair Bolsonaro has adopted a mix of security and conservative policies. But it is especially since the appearance of the coronavirus that its polemical style shocked number of Brazilians, in particular when it minimized the danger

His presence during anti-democratic demonstrations, which demanded the closure of Congress and the return of the military to power, is also criticized by the authors of this dismissal request.

It is the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Rodrigo Maia, who must decide whether to comply with this request. But the chances of succeeding in the departure of Jair Bolsonaro are limited, as the former left-wing president Dilma Rousseff, herself dismissed in 2016, admits. "  I don't think there are enough deputies to vote in favor of dismissal,  "she said. J air Bolsonaro has indeed secured the support of small right-wing parties in recent weeks, in order to obtain a blocking minority in Congress.
