  • De-escalation What can be done in phase 1?

The Community of Madrid has ruled out this Friday to request an early pass to phase 2 of the de-escalation of the confinement decreed by the coronavirus crisis. Thus, the region will remain in the 1st as of Monday at least for the two weeks that the Ministry of Health establishes in a generic way.

What the Government of Isabel Díaz Ayuso will do is request the application of other measures to make economic activity more flexible at higher levels. As explained by the president herself in a joint press conference with the mayor of the capital, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, among them will be the reopening of shopping malls to 40% and the implementation of face-to-face reincorporation protocols in companies with staggered schedules.

"Active and nature tourism is a personal opinion that I think is better than the Ministry of Health, but they are issues that can be studied," added the regional leader. "We have an economic problem that no one escapes from us and it is time that the steps we take are focused on the same thing: creating jobs and avoiding the massive loss of companies," he added.

Throughout this weekend, the Community of Madrid will publish an order with recommendations and advice before the start of the de-escalation process. Among the novel aspects is that the minimum distance that runners and people who ride a bicycle must maintain must be at least six meters.
