by Tiziana Di Giovannandrea 22 May 2020 Roberto Rosso, former regional councilor in Piedmont for FDI, accused of alleged political-mafia electoral exchange has been indicted.

This was established by the gup Elena Rocci of the Public Prosecutor at the Turin Court. The indictment also concerns ten other defendants in the Fenice investigation into the presence of the 'Ndrangheta in the North-West. The trial was set for July 9 in Asti.

Rosso had been arrested in December as part of the Fenice investigation for alleged exchange vote. The gup Elena Rocci has ordered an assessment of the health conditions of Roberto Rosso, the former Piedmont regional councilor. For Rosso, the defense had asked for house arrest. The Prosecutor's Office gave a favorable opinion.

In all likelihood the trial will be combined with another procedure, already underway in the Piedmontese city, called Carminius.

Meanwhile, as regards the conduct of Fenice's preliminary hearing, the video link with the prison could not be organized and the judge ordered that the detainees appear in the courtroom in Turin.

A setback did not allow the Vallette prison to find a classroom in which to place the detainees for live video. The gup Elena Rocci, therefore, ordered the translation at the Palazzo di Giustizia for two of them. Rosso instead gave up attending.
