May 21, 2020: Jump to the start of June 2 in via dei Fori Imperiali in Rome. According to what is learned from military sources, the most credible hypothesis, after contacts between Quirinale and the Ministry of Defense, would be that of a demonstration very similar to that of April 25. The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, according to the proposal under consideration, will pay tribute to the Unknown Soldier with the only high offices of the State, accompanied therefore by Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, by the Presidents of the Chamber and Senate, Roberto Fico and Elisabetta Alberti Casellati, and the ministers competent, including the holder of the defense, Lorenzo Guerini, and the president of the Constitutional Court, Marta Cartabia.

In all, it could allow the participation of about 50 personalities, and possibly the military on horseback set up in Piazza Venezia and the inevitable tricolor arrows. In this way, it is explained, the spacing prepared for the Coronavirus emergency would be maintained.

For the Republic Day, the usual reception at the Quirinale on June 1st will not take place and the palace gardens the following day will not be open to the public.
