May 21, 2020 As part of the same investigation that in January led to the blocking of 15 web links used for viewing multimedia content with conditional access, the Court of Rome - Section of the Judge for Preliminary Investigations - ordered the preventive seizure, by obscuring 10 websites that allowed unauthorized access to unauthorized audiovisual content, in particular sporting events, to an indeterminate number of end users. The measure requested by the Public Prosecutor's Office was issued on the basis of the investigations carried out by the Special Goods and Services Unit of the Guardia di Finanza. The military developed the elements acquired at the time from a complaint filed by the National League of Professionals of Serie A, jointly with the individual organizing teams of football matches, the audiovisual rights relating to all the events played in the competitions of which the same is organizer (Serie A Tim Championship, Italian Cup, Super Cup and Spring Competitions). Through the so-called IPTV (Internet Protocol Television), the "pirates" acquire and re-code the television schedules of the major paid platforms and then distribute them on the internet in the form of a data stream that can be received by the user users, with the subscription of an illicit subscription and a simple PC, tablet, smartphone or decoder connected to the network.
