In France, the government has until next Wednesday to make a decision if it wants to organize the second round of municipal elections in late June. Pressed to turn the page and install the new mayors who will be on the front line to revive the country, Emmanuel Macron and Édouard Philippe look for the date of June 28, but face strong reluctance even within the running Republic .

 In the first round, we took it up in the face and many experienced it badly.  This is what a majority figure notes. The maintenance of the election a few days before the confinement was much criticized and they are several, around Emmanuel Macron, to fear a new rain of reproaches.

MPs Marchers express their reluctance publicly, but also those very close to the Head of State, such as the President of the National Assembly Richard Ferrand.

Among the arguments put forward, there is the practical side: how to organize a campaign if rallies are prohibited? And then there is the political side: the fear that the candidates in the March "  have no chance of winning  " in the face of outgoing mayors who, according to a cadre of the majority, "have  used public means to get in scene in the fight against the epidemic  ”.

Bias campaign, fear of an even higher premium to the outgoing mayor, and therefore insurance of a failed local anchoring for La République en Marche.
