“The importance of an immediate cessation of hostilities and the resumption of the political process under the auspices of the UN with the obligatory participation of the Libyan parties in order to resolve the crisis based on the decisions of the Berlin Conference approved by the UN Security Council’s resolution,” the Foreign Ministry said.

The ministers also reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation in the interests of a comprehensive settlement of the Syrian crisis with the support of the international community in line with UN Security Council resolutions.

“In this regard, the commitment to the agreements of the leaders of Russia, Turkey and Iran as countries that are guarantors of the Astana format has been confirmed,” the message said.

Lavrov and Chavushoglu stressed the importance of preparing the next summit of the "Astana Three", which is planned to be held in Tehran.

Earlier, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said that the German authorities are concerned about the escalation of hostilities in Libya.
