May 21, 2020 A violent explosion shortly before midnight yesterday destroyed the entrance to the Avellino Employment Center. The roar was heard in via Pescatori, in the center of the city. The office is located in a condominium of dozens and dozens of apartments and the explosion did not cause damage to the building but much fear among the residents, some of whom took to the streets. On the spot carabinieri and police together with the firefighters who verified that there were no other devices and that the structure did not present any risks.

The explosion shattered the glass of the entrance, sprinkling the pavement with glass splinters. The carabinieri and the police are acquiring videos of some video surveillance cameras in the area to identify those responsible for the attack. The hypotheses under consideration by the investigators are different: from the politically motivated attack to the warning against some employee of the Employment Center, in addition to the 'stunt' of boys. Some inhabitants of the area were heard who would notice people wandering around. To rule out that the attack was aimed at other businesses along the way.

He wanted to express solidarity with the employees of the employment center and this morning the president of the Campania Region, Vincenzo De Luca, visited the offices where the paper bomb exploded last night. "It is a disturbing signal - said the governor to the employees - especially at this particular moment". He assured the managers that he will discuss the matter with the Prime Minister, Giuseppe Conte "to take the appropriate measures". Meanwhile, the area is monitored by police and carabinieri who are investigating to trace the perpetrators of the gesture and identify the matrix of the attack. "The damage is such as to make one think of a real explosive device - added De Luca in a note - it is a serious and worrying episode, which requires a decisive intervention by the police and an immediate investigation to identify the responsibilities.

It was also an occasion to thank all the employees of the Employment Centers of Campania for the enormous work of these months both for the development of the Region's competition and for the investigations relating to the layoff in this emergency period. Campania is at the forefront of Italy in the preliminary investigations, although despite the work done and having sent the files to INPS, many applications are still stopped. For the redundancy fund, the Government lacks 40 million for coverage. of all the questions. We have already asked the Ministry of Labor and will continue to do so, hoping that there will be adequate answers as soon as possible ".
