China News Service, May 21 (local time) On May 21, local time, a joint letter issued by 17 Asian American organizations to the American public called on all ethnic groups in the United States to unite against the epidemic.

The original text of the open letter is as follows:

May is the Asian-Pacific Heritage Month, a time when we commemorate the significant contributions made by our fellow Asian-Pacifics to the United States.

We are proud of being Chinese Americans.

While our country is united to fight against the new crown pneumonia epidemic, Chinese Americans have been fighting on the front line.

In the emergency room of the hospital, there are Chinese medical staff who treat their compatriots. In communities all over the United States, we Chinese are spreading knowledge about anti-epidemic knowledge. When restarting the national economy, Chinese SMEs and entrepreneurs have already made strides.

In the United States, there is an Asian American in every five doctors. Among the research team engaged in the research and development of new coronary pneumonia vaccines, one-third are Asian Americans.

In addition, there are Chinese Americans in different departments on the front line of the epidemic prevention, such as stores, logistics delivery and technical departments. They provide protection for everyone's food supply and network communication.

In the current fight against epidemics in our country, the Chinese American community spares no effort to mobilize resources to provide support to various departments. We donated medical protective equipment such as masks, face masks and protective clothing to major hospitals across the United States. We donated epidemic prevention materials to the staff of important departments and homeless people. We are always ready to come forward when we need it, because this is our common battle. Only when we unite as a nation and a nation will the United States win.

As Americans, we refuse to hype the political tactics of racial division and segregation. Our country is composed of people from all over the world. Many races converge into one American nation.

We pay tribute to national leaders who are committed to uniting all Americans and supporting each other. All officials elected by ballots should perform the duties entrusted to them by the Constitution, that is, they represent all Americans, which is also the cornerstone of our country: to speak for every citizen and for the values of the United States of America.

Chinese Americans, as well as our fellow Americans, will support leaders who abide by this principle and maintain national unity. Only by uniting will our leaders receive the support of all Americans, and will we have the power to lead our beloved country to regain a stronger and brighter light after defeating the epidemic.
